History

1954

Foundation

Atom University established in Yerevan as Armenia's premier institute for atomic science and nuclear engineering education.

1958

First Research Breakthrough

Founding faculty achieve their first controlled nuclear experiment, establishing a culture of hands-on research.

1973

National Research Reactor

Commissioning of the national research reactor at Metsamor, enabling neutron science and isotope production.

1995

University Expansion

Elevation to full university status with expanded graduate programs and international accreditation.

2008

Innovation Campus

Opening of the Advanced Technology Campus in Yerevan with simulation centers and clean-room laboratories.

2018

Regional Research Hub

Recognition as a regional center for atomic science with 120+ international partnerships.

2024

National Atomic Research Center

Launch of the flagship National Atomic Research Center modernization program.

2026

Global Leadership
